2 DAYS TOUR OF KUMASI (ASHANTI REGION)
BONWIRE, MANHYIA PALACE LAKE BOSOMTWE
DAY 1
The package begins with a drive to Kumasi with a stop at Bonwire, the Kente weaving centre, to witness Kente weaving. We continue to Kumasi for a guided tour of the capital of the Ashanti Region. We start from the Manhyia Palace Mausoleum for an elaborate history on the Ashanti Kingdom, the past & present kings, Yaa Asantewah, the great Ashanti Queen Mother and warrior & many more. After lunch we proceed to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where we still have the famous Okomfo Anokyes Sword buried in the ground and where the Ashanti Kingdom was founded. The Tour Guide then takes us to the Center for National Culture for a collection of African artifacts. We continue to lake Bosomtwe believed to be a crater.
Dinner is served at the Paradise Lake Hotel and the night is spent at the hotel
DAY 2
The Day begins with a morning view of lake Bosomtwe which was discovered in 1640 by a farmer. After breakfast a boat is arranged for a cruise on the lake. There are 24 villages around the lake, its depth is about 78 meters. Lunch is arranged after the cruise. Depart to Accra, arriving at about 18hrs.
